Momma I See Something You
Don’t See
Written by R. Friend
I held a
caterpillar fuzzy green. It squirmed and started crawlin’ up my knee.
I shout, Momma,
I see somethin’, Momma, I see somethin’,
Momma, I see
somethin’ you don’t see.
I hear her softly whisper
in my ear. I’ve a secret – her words are crystal clear.
Bursting
forth in full sunlight – dancing darelessly in flight.
What once was bound – is a butterfly dancing
free!
Dare to dance
– Dare to rise above! Dare to dance – Dare to share you love
Dare to dance – in a brand new world!
Eyes aglow
I felt so in command. –a teeny , tiny tadpole in my hand.
I shout,
Momma, I see somethin’, Momma, I see somethin’
Momma, I see
somethin’ you don’t see.
I hear her
softly whisper in my ear, I’ve a
secret her words are crystal clear.
Growing,
changing day by day a bright big bullfrog hops our way.
Croaking out a song – for all to hear!
Leap for joy – Dare to rise above! Leap for joy – Dare to share your
love!
Leap for joy - in a brand new world!
BRIDGE:
Pieces of the
puzzle – oh, there’s so much more—to what my mother said when I was four.
Full of love
& so very wise—she said there’s much
more than meets our human eyes.
‘Cause Momma
sees somethin’ you don’t see.
You’re growing, changing and one day you’ll
be.
Leaping off a
launching pad – homeward bound - free at last!
Free to be
what you were made to be!
Dare to dance
– Dare to rise above! Dare to dance – Dare to share you love
Dare to dance – in a brand new world!
And now I’m
grown with children of my own. My
mother’s gone, but this one thing I know
She’s in heaven
up above –and she’s smiling down with love—
I hear her
softly whisper in my ear. I’ve a secret!
Honey, I see somethin’ you don’t see,
Darling, I see somethin’ you don’t see,
So don’t
forget to sing and soar, ‘Cause life goes on - forevermore
Leap for joy
and dare to dance and sing!
‘Cause Momma
sees somethin’ – Momma sees somethin’ –
Momma sees
somethin’ you don’t see!
